Who you identify as and how you see yourself impacts every relationship you have, the choices you make in life, and how you carry yourself through the world. Your identity is complex, consisting of many different parts of self. How we relate to these parts of self varies. You may feel connected and proud of some parts, while other parts you keep hidden because you may feel embarrassed, ashamed, fearful or worried about letting them be seen. Occasionally there are parts of ourselves we never new existed or we feel disconnected from ourselves, like part of you is missing. Or sometimes a life transition adds a new part to your identity that can feel scary, produce anxiety or resistance. When we resist, disconnect or ignore our parts, keeping them hidden and unknown, inevitably you will experience some sort of suffering.
In our work together around your identity I welcome all parts of you. We will begin the process by acknowledging and identifying these shadow parts and I will support you as you learn to engage with all parts of yourself with compassion and empathy. When you can embrace the entirety of your identity then true healing, relief, and more self trust and confidence can occur.
